Founder and company story
Ceylan Logistics was founded on more than two decades of hands-on experience across international freight forwarding, customs compliance, maritime logistics and global supply chain operations.
Our founder, Serdar Ceylan, began his career at sea as a Radio Officer before moving into international logistics, where he worked with globally recognised organisations including Exel International Logistics, Wilhelmsen Ship Service, UTI International and DSV Air & Sea. Throughout his career, he has managed ocean freight, air freight, customs operations, international tenders, cargo insurance, procurement, warehouse management and end-to-end supply chain projects across Europe and the United Kingdom.
His professional journey also includes strategic logistics consultancy through Ceylan Logistics Import & Export Ltd, customs declaration work involving aircraft components for British Airways, international road freight and customs projects, warehouse optimisation, procurement, stock control and dispatch operations.
Working across every stage of the logistics chain revealed a common problem: despite rapid advances in global trade, many freight forwarding processes still relied on disconnected systems, spreadsheets, emails and manual quotations. Valuable operational knowledge was scattered across different platforms, making logistics slower, less transparent and more difficult than it should be.
Rather than accepting these limitations, we decided to build a better solution.
